Peach and Lily

Peach and Lily recently shared their best of k-beauty skincare package with me! I can't thank them enough for their generosity. Since I'm pretty new to Korean skincare, I thought I'd do a few mini reviews of some of the products they sent, along with a brief brand overview.

Peach and Lily is an online boutique that brings you the best Korean beauty products, trends, and innovations. Their founder, Alicia Yoon, visits Korea monthly to find the best new products and developments currently available. They also make some amazing skincare products themselves, check out their sheet masks and moisturizers.

What I love most about Peach and Lily is that they partner with Korean beauty brands that otherwise wouldn't have an English speaking audience. Most of their personal webpages are not translated, which means I would never have a chance to try these goodies if it wasn't for Peach and Lily. Alicia makes sure that all products on her site have English ingredients and instructions.

Here are some highlights from the brand:

- Only 5% of what they find actually makes it to the website! Their standards are extremely high.

- If you, like me, are more familiar with Japanese skincare and feeling totally lost when it comes to k-beauty, never fear! Peach and Lily' s website has a TON of skincare kits to start you on your journey. They also have a super helpful webpage in their "About Us" section called "Korean Skincare Routine. It will show you all the basics for setting up your new k-beauty regimen.

- You get 10% off your first order! Their points system is also crazy generous, you get $15 worth of points just for signing up to the website and $10 for every $100 spent.

SHEET MASK SET: this set is literally the stuff of dreams. Not only is their packaging totally swoon worthy, but the ingredient list makes my knees weak! I tried RESET BUTTON last night and let me tell you, ya girls face is feeling hella hydrated today!!

Chubby Cheeks contains a host of my favorites (including betaine, snail filtrate, panethol, aloe juice, ylang ylang, hyaluronic acid, rice ferment filtrate, niacinamide, ginseng, and peptides). The mask is meant to bring back "the chubby cheeks you were born with" which makes me grin from ear to ear. I absolutely adore this mask, it's so soothing and plumping. It makes your skin look positively dewy so it would be a great treatment before a party or wedding!

LOTUS ESSENCE: This beauty contains niacinamide, black currant seed oil, green tea extract, ceramides, and lavender. It's cooling to the skin and very moisturizing. The texture is quite watery but it acts more like an emulsion (similar to Deciem's Buffet serum). Since this essence contains both oil & water, it's much more moisturizing than a water based serum alone. In my routine, I use it after my vitamins and acids (water based) but before any oils, creams, or spf.

VOLUFILINE 15 EYE ESSENCE: I love that this comes as a 50ml, I use a LOT of eye serum (aka I'm old and tired) so I can never have enough. This silky gel contains peptides and glutathione to help collagen production. Like most eye serums it contains dimethicone which means it won't layer well but my god, you don't even NEED to layer when you have an essence THIS GOOD! 😍 It's as silky and light as a cloud but SO hydrating. The texture is between a gel and cream, it's seriously the most luxurious eye product I've ever used. This could easily replace Mizon's Snail Cream as my daily moisturizer! If you're wondering what the volufiline is all about, it's a plant-based ingredient that is used in some body enhancement creams to stimulate the growth of fat cells in the areas it is applied (usually used for breast and butt enhancements, but it has SO much value in skincare for helping to plump cheeks and fill in under eyes, etc) What’s great about this product is that it’s non-hormonal, topical, and natural. It contains the plant extract sarsasapogenin, from a Chinese herb anemarrhena asphodeloides. This extract has been shown to actually stimulate the growth of adipocytes (fat cells). As well as sarsasapogenin, Volufiline combines this active ingredient with a hydrogenated oil, called hydrogenated polyisobutene, which acts with this sarsasapogenin to increase plumpness. This eye essence helps skin look more youthful, produce more collagen, fill in fine lines and wrinkles, and gives you a soft dewy texture. I love innovative skincare, and I can't wait to see the results after longer use!

SQUALANE FLUID OIL: I'm head over heels for this oil by Olivarrier. So much so, that it deserves its own post. While there are many squalane oils out there to choose from, this one is sourced from olives and is cruelty free. It also is odorless, has no other ingredients, and performs beautifully on the skin.

FEMMUE ROSE MASK: Femmue always kills it in the packaging department, but their formula here is actually quite incredible. When I first opened the jar, I was greeted with the most fluffy dewy texture! It goes on soft and never hardens or gets cakey. My skin feels hydrated, nourished, clean (but not tight), and smells delicious after using this. Femmue's rose is quickly becoming my favorite mask and I don't even like clay masks!

The ingredients are amazing, it contains a powerhouse of bentonite, kaolin, lava clay, ceramides, beta glucan, green tea seed oil, probiotics, squalane, hyaluronic acid, and glycerin. It helps calm any inflammation I'm experiencing and clears my pores without stripping my face of moisture. Instant love!

CITRUS HONEY AQUA GLOW: This is a glycerin based moisturizer that is between a gel and a cream. It contains honey and ceramides for extra hydration. At only $12 for 3 oz, this is quickly becoming my favorite moisturizer. It's light enough for spring and easy to layer with in winter. I'm so impressed with everything I've tried from Peach and Lily's line. This is no exception!

COCONUT CLEANSING OIL: This oil based cleanser has a silky smooth texture that is just divine! It contains omega 3's and essential oils that help purify your skin without irritating it. I had no trouble getting waterproof mascara or sunscreen off with this cleanser, it really is an all-in-one type of product. If you have sensitive skin, you have to try this! It's very generously priced for the size and it emulsifies with water so it doesn't leave a film on your face!

BOTANICAL PORE TONER: So this isn't formulated for dry skin types like myself, therefore I was a little worried to actually put it on my face. It mattifies skin naturally and provides sebum control for oily and acne prone skin. I love that it contains witch hazel and fermented extracts to prevent breakouts, but I haven't had much success with it. Next time I plan on trying their Nutrition Toner which is better suited for my dry skin.

CELLLUS SUN GEL: This is unlike any spf I've used. It behaves more like a watery sunscreen but it sinks in instantly without the dreaded white cast! It's got a very natural looking matte finish to it and it's totally not greasy and non streaky. Oily skin types will LOVE this product. It does contain alcohol but it feels super gentle and nourishing on the skin. I love the handy little micro spout that lets you dispense just a little at a time. This is quickly becoming my favorite spf. It's best used as the very last step of a routine.

DR DREAM AGE RADIANCE POWDER: No bigger than a lipstick, this beauty slips easily into the palm of my hand. When it arrived I was enamored with the packaging but also somewhat confused. What WAS this little bottle, and how was I supposed to use it? Since my skincare routine & nightly bath easily takes up 2 hours of my day (am and pm combined), I'm always a bit cautious about adding time consuming products. But this little essence has snuck into my heart so quickly, I'm surprised at how attached I am!

Dr. Dream's rose radiance powder contains niacinamide, ethyl ascorbic acid, panthenol, rose extract, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, and pearl extract...among other actives. As you can see this little powerhouse was MADE for skin brightening. It also contains dimethecone which means it's best to use this during the final steps of your routine.

Here's how I use it:

I cleanse, tone, and apply my ph dependant acids and actives. I wait 5-10 minutes for them to absorb completely.

2. I mix a small amount of the age radiance powder with a serum or essence. @thelotus_usa essence happens to be the PERFECT carrier for this Dr. Dream powder, it dissolves beautifully and quickly for easy application.

3. I wait 10-20 mins for everything to absorb and then apply additional facial oils (if necessary), creams, and/or spf.

As you can see, my routine is already fairly long, but this powder essence fits in nicely without adding any extra minutes. If you're in the market for a beautiful little rose potion, this is certainly one to consider. I'm thrilled with my results so far.

I have more items from my best of k-beauty package to share with you, but this is all for now! Thanks so much to Peach and Lily for their generosity! If you're looking to get into k-beauty, you've come to the right place. I love their skincare kits which showcase the best of all brands! Their dry skin regimen kit is calling to me.
